LISA LYNDE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Lisa moved to Texas in July 2019 from New Orleans and was thrilled to join King William Association as Executive Director. Long a lover of all things old, Lisa received her Masters of Science in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to her move to San Antonio she served as Head of School for a Waldorf School for four years and before that served as Executive Director for a free medical clinic in New Orleans. Nonprofits are in her blood! She’s enjoying exploring San Antonio and especially loves the walkable small-town feel of King William. Since moving to San Antonio she’s finding ways of getting involved by joining the San Antonio Mastersingers and is happy to be singing again! In the rest of her spare time she works on her antique business by going picking for treasures that she sells up at 8th Street Market in Comfort, Texas.

JEN HUSS

A recent Texas transplant, Jen enjoyed her first King William Fair this year. She could not be more excited to now be a part of the team that puts on this phenomenal event. Jen has an extensive background in project management and leadership working in corporations dedicated to giving back to their communities while providing an excellent customer experience. She is delighted to have the opportunity to apply her knowledge and experience to the King William Association mission. As the Events Director, Jen is looking forward to adding more events to the Association’s annual calendar in order to be in a position to give back even more to the San Antonio community. Having lived and traveled throughout the United States, Jen is eager to establish roots here in San Antonio, taking full advantage of the rich diversity, history, and cultural offerings that the city provides.

ALICIA SPENCE-SCHLESINGER

PARADE COORDINATOR

Alicia has been an active member in the King William community since 1996. As a student she would earn extra credit attending First Friday Art Openings at Blue Star Contemporary Art in the late 90s. At the turn of the century, she had the opportunity to feature her paintings in solo and group shows in various galleries along the S. Alamo strip. Also during this time, to help establish her roots she volunteered her graphic design skills for the neighborhood’s revitalization project, Art in the ‘Hood. As the years went on, she landed a position handling the marketing and daily operations for Blue Star Brewing Co. and their sister businesses. During this time, she coordinated a decade’s worth of King William Parade entries for Blue Star Brewing Co. These parade entries helped Alicia realize she had a passion for parades because they have a magical way of bringing people together. Thankfully, the original Parade Wrangler, Sue Duffy recognized her passion and took her under her wing by training her to fill her shoes.
